Growing up as a human in Southern California, Cascade had always had a love for the water. She would often spend her days swimming in the waves and would lose track of time trying to discover more about underwater life. Cascade was named after the cascading waterfall where her parents were married at Paradise falls. She always had a strong fascination with this waterfall and every year she would ask to go up to the waterfall on her own, but her parents told her to wait until she turned 18 years old.
When her 18th birthday came around she decided to hike up to the waterfall she was named after. As she was hiking a terrible storm started to form and everyone was leaving the area, but Cascade was determined so she kept on the trail alone. When she reached the falls she couldn’t believe her eyes, the falls were more beautiful than she could imagine and she couldn’t wait to jump in.
The moment she went into the water the storm stopped everything around her started to glow bright blue! She thought she felt a warm blanket wrapping her legs together so she looked down, and to her surprise she saw that a tail where her legs were supposed to be! She had turned into a mermaid. She then found a stone at the bottom of the water and when she picked it up the waters called to her and told her that now it is her responsibility to help protect the waters and teach children everywhere how they can help protect the water too. She now keeps that stone with her at all times to remind her of how the water called out to her.
Now Cascade spends most of her time in the Pacific Oceans beautiful kelp forests that off the coast of the California channel islands. During her first swim in the ocean Cascade met many different ocean animals including her best friend Storm the seal. Storm is a very sweet seal but she is also a bit of a trouble maker. She is always sneaking through the kelp forest to jump out and scare Cascade! Together they go on many fun adventures to find lost pirate ships and help their ocean friends.
Cascade loves to spend her time singing with the whales and helping take care of the fish in the nursery. She is known for her cheerful demure and beautiful siren songs. She is also very passionate about protecting the waters in California. She wants you to know that you have the power to make a difference in this world if you believe in yourself and follow your dreams.
