Sheroes Entertainment would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year. New years typically indicate new beginnings, fresh starts, and renewed hope for a better tomorrow and 2021 has the possibility of them all.
In the wake of so much uncertainty caused by Covid-19 last year, and as we commemorate Martin Luther King Jr. on MLK Day, let us continue his dream of affecting change by moving forward and celebrating the recent newly elected officials in our government – both local and national – that reflect the incredible diversity of our country.
Alejandro “Alex” Padilla, the son of Mexican immigrants, is the first Latino to represent California in the U.S. Senate. During the runoff, Reverend Raphael Warnock – the first Black Senator from Georgia – alongside Jon Ossoff, the Jewish son of an immigrant, were elected to the Senate. All of whom will join a Catholic President; former VP during the Obama administration, Joe Biden, and the first woman – of Black and Indian descent – to ever be elected Vice President, Kamala Harris.
Martin Luther King Jr. famously said, “I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” Today, and every day, we are committed to living and leading by that goal. We hope you will join us in following his timeless wisdom and leadership as we work together to build a kinder, more loving, compassionate, future for everyone.
